What’s new from the trade shows

New Year, New wave

After a busy few weeks checking out some fabulous new collections at the trade shows in Frankfurt, Paris and London I’m excited to share some of our trend forecasts for the coming year. We’ve chosen some exceptional patterns and prints to excite and inspire your walls for the seasons ahead.

Starting with…

TEXTURE 

Textured vinyl wallpapers are very modern, versatile and provide an interesting and stylish backdrop with finishes from natural wicker, grasscloths, terrazzo marbling to faux fur and warm woods. The natural colour schemes make for a tranquil atmosphere.

GREENERY

Not surprisingly green is still very much a colour on the radar. Positive and relaxing, easy to live with and so versatile too from the softest of peppermint to the deepest, darkest forest. A calming shade for any room in the house (not just for walls – try painting the woodwork too). Add your own plantation of leafy foliage, great for air purifying as well as stylishly on trend.

BOHEMIAN SPIRIT
For the relaxed, non conformist who also likes maximalist interiors. Rich colours, reds and purples, add some oriental hot pinks, fringes, floor cushions, rugs, brass lanterns… Get the picture!

BOLD & BLOWSY
An oversized wallpaper design, such as big and blousy florals create a statement ’boutique hotel’ inspired interior that’s both fun and extrovert.

IN THE PINK
We’re all loving the colour pink in all it’s guises from ballerina, nude, salmon, to retro Barbie. Choose rose pink for a calming influence to wherever it sits. Not just for girls either!

TROPICAL HEAT
Still hot to trot is the tropical trend  – it’s here to stay for a while longer. Oversized palms, cheese plants, jungle prints, cacti, succulents, popping yellows and oranges-fiesta fun from dawn ’til dusk!
