Wallpaper book club – Timothy Wilman Home Volume II

Following the successful launch of the first collection, this second Timothy Wilman Home range - created once again in collaboration with Wallpaperdirect - explores a softer, more romantic side of interiors. A palette of gentle pinks and soft pastels runs throughout, chosen to evoke nature's delicate hues, offering feelings of calm, wistful joy.

In close collaboration with the Wallpaperdirect team, Timothy Wilman Home design studio has delved into its archives to reimagine classic patterns for a contemporary interiors. Traditional florals and chinoiserie motifs have been thoughtfully reworked, wisteria and cherry blossom bring the tranquillity of nature with the refinement of hand-painted artistry. Understated geometrics introduce poised structure, while two commanding murals provide a measured sense of drama, enriching layered spaces with quiet sophistication.

“This collection embraces a lighter more thoughtful mood – deeply personal and full of feeling. I can’t wait for you to see where it takes you”

One of the wallpaperdirect team’s favourites from this collection, Hawthorne Hill is a striking mural wallpaper designed to create instant visual impact with ease. Standing at an impressive 300cm high, the mural can be easily trimmed to fit a lower ceiling height, offering flexibility without compromising on style. At 318cm wide, its repeatable both side-to-side and top-to bottom design allows it to seamlessly extend across larger spaces, making it ideal for statement walls or expansive open-plan interiors.

The beautifully painted design blends natural elegance with atmospheric depth and is perfect for injecting character into both contemporary and classic schemes. Installation is hassle-free thanks to the easy paste-the-wall method, allowing for a smooth and straightforward application.

Below: Kingsmere

This is a wallpaper that feels both timeless and fresh all at once. In this room, Kingsmere acts as a focal point, anchoring the space with a beautifully detailed design and brings an elegant tropical twist. Its ability to blend botanical richness with a contemporary colour story makes it a perfect choice for interiors that combine both traditional and modern styles.

Below: Montcliffe

We are witnessing a big resurgence in small-print designs in interior design and this collection includes many useful variations including Montcliffe (shown below), a sophisticated all-over print inspired by the raw beauty of organic textures and natural forms. Its design features irregular, asymmetrical shapes that subtly echo the markings found in animal prints, creating a gentle backdrop. This pattern is an ideal choice for wrapping all four walls in a space, offering visual interest without overwhelming the room.

This wallpaper, derived from an archival document, exemplifies the classic Indienne tradition, a historic style characterised by its intricate florals and exotic botanical motifs originally inspired by Indian textile imports. Often found in English country houses, this timeless print brings a sense of heritage to interiors. Despite its traditional roots, it remains highly versatile, ideal for creating a romantic, layered look in both traditional and contemporary spaces.

For a cohesive scheme, we suggest that you complement the wallpaper with smaller-scale florals, ditsy prints, or fine stripes on upholstery and soft furnishings. This approach helps to ground the boldness of the wallpaper while maintaining a rich, layered interior full of texture and visual interest.

Below: Thornleigh

The scale of the design lends it a dramatic, immersive quality, ideal for making a style impact and leading the way in styling a space. It offers the opportunity for a layered, natural richness that feels both luxurious and grounded.

We always love to see wallpaper used in panelled sections in a room. It is a great way to add architectural interest to contemporary spaces and allows for the framing of wallpapers in a style that focuses on artistry. Panelled spaces often require less wallpaper and are a great way to keep on budget – just remember to pattern match across the wall as if the panelling weren’t there, this will give you the truly professional finish.

Below: Oakminster

Oakmister offers a modern reimagining of traditional Chinoiserie design. Stripped of the ornate birds and insects often associated with the style, this wallpaper focuses purely on botanical beauty. Large-scale florals climb gracefully on branch-like stems, creating a sense of vertical movement and refined impact.

The design is intentionally pared back, with a minimalist sensibility that suits contemporary interiors. Available in six two-tone colourways, it is ideal for creating a serene, but visually engaging rooms.

Below: Lindenford

At wallpaperdirect, we let a design like Lindenford to do most of the talking when styling a room. The cascading wisteria and soft, romantic palette instantly bring a sense of calm and botanical beauty to a space. This blush pink version (shown below) is especially dreamy, but whichever of the six colourways you choose, it sets a refined and feminine tone.

In a bedroom or dressing area, we’d pair it with plush textures –  think velvet cushions, a soft upholstered headboard, or silk curtains to echo the opulence of the floral design. For furniture, try balancing the florals with clean-lined furniture in chalky neutrals or soft shades drawn from the wallpaper itself. The key is to let the wallpaper shine while layering in subtle, complementary pieces that enhance its charm without competing for attention.

Below: Celadon

When putting together this collection, we were often looking for those quiet, versatile designs that can bring everything together – and this small-scale trellis wallpaper is exactly that. Its subtle pattern adds just enough structure and texture to feel considered, but it’s gentle enough to work across all four walls without overwhelming a room.

Celadon is one of those quietly confident wallpapers that will elevate a space without shouting for attention. Ideal as a linking element between rooms with bolder, large-scale designs, it creates a sense of flow without competing for attention. It’s also a brilliant solution for smaller areas, like this hallway wall (as shown below), or tucked-away corners, where you want to add visual interest and warmth.

Below: Westcombe

Westcombe is one of those designs that instantly elevates a space. The stylised Baroque florals, arranged in a loose trellis pattern, strike just the right balance between classic elegance and a more relaxed, modern feel. We are especially drawn to this Oxford blue colourway which is right on-trend in interior fashion at the moment. Soft grey- blues like this bring a sense of depth and calm to a room, while the pattern still feels bold and characterful.
