We visit GP&J Baker’s Chelsea Harbour HQ
The hand drawn English flower designs loved and collected by horticulture enthusiast George Percival have shaped the GP&J Baker style ever since, and today the archive has grown into one of the largest, most exciting collections in the world. We had the privilege of browsing through some of these gorgeous, delicate original artworks.
The traditionally-styled GP&J Baker brand (proud holders of the Royal Warrant since 1982) is complemented today by the understated luxury of their Threads brand, the young, fresh and pretty vibe of Baker Lifestyle, and the quintessential British luxury of Mulberry Home (amongst many more).
We visited their design studio for our look at the archive, and to get a sneaky peek at new ideas (sorry folks – very hush hush!) and had a preview of the lovely Autumn collections.
GP&J Baker proudly announce themselves as the Arbiters of British Style. After a day like that, who are we to argue?
G P & J Baker – Arbiters of British Style
The lovely people at G P (George Percival) & J (James) Baker invited us to their sumptuous Chelsea Harbour showrooms this week for an in-depth tour of their brands, their studio and their wonderful archives… The company began more than 125 years ago. From the earliest days they collected rare and iconic designs from around the world and adapted them in their studio to create contemporary designs that suited the tastes and fashions of the time.
