Mini Moderns launch Saturday Night and Sunday morning
Mini dramas
This week we were delighted to be invited to London’s Geffreye Museum to the launch of Mini Moderns‘ latest wallpaper collection, Saturday Night and Sunday Morning.
It’s ten years since Mini Moderns introduced their Playtime wallpaper collection, inspired by 1960s children’s programme Mary, Mungo and Midge. Since then they’ve taken us on a Red Bus Rover ride with Fayre’s Fair, visiting Whitby, Dungeness and even Darjeeling, and they’ve pressed rewind to take us back in time to the Festival of Britain and to Pet Sounds courtesy of the C-60 cassette.
The story is strong with the Moderns, and mood boards for Saturday Night and Sunday Morning featuring covers from kitchen sink dramas like (Hey There) Georgy Girl and Room at the Top gave us an insight into their design process.
Musical inspiration was on display, and on the Dansette.
Ten years on from Playtime, you’ll find Mini Moderns designs on everything from window film to DAB radios to casserole pots.
With Saturday Night and Sunday Morning their trademark patterns with a story are beginning a new chapter on walls up and down the country, providing the perfect backdrop to exciting nights and dazzling days long into the future.
